About the Work
In this 30" x 30" square composition, Gayle places the viewer directly above a crystal-clear mountain pool. A dense canopy of mature summer leaves hangs across the upper-left portion of the painting, built with rhythmic brushwork in emerald, jade, and yellow-green highlights.
The lower and central areas unfold as a layered tapestry of autumn foliage.
