In Proto Luminous Plus, contemporary surrealist Scott Fisher presents a richly atmospheric and intellectually playful composition on a 12" x 16" wood panel. The scene positions the viewer on a ruined stone overlook or ancient balustrade, looking past a double colonnade of fluted Roman columns that anchors the left side of the composition.
The masonry is rendered in deep charcoal, earthy sienna, and raw umber, with precise shadow lines suggesting centuries of weathering. At the stone base, a dark organic tree trunk twists around the architecture, softening the geometry and introducing a living counterpoint to the ruins.
