In Morning Poppies, Monique Sakellarios presents a highly collectible 4" x 6" oil painting on Masonite, designed with the intensity and presence of a much larger work. The viewer is placed low in the meadow, close to the land's surface, where deep ochre, burnt sienna, and copper glazes form a warm foundation beneath the blooming field.
Across the center, the composition bursts into a heavily textured sweep of poppies.
