This specific design belongs to a highly celebrated subset of southern Persian village textiles originating from the Kerman province. They are instantly recognizable by their alternating horizontal sequence of tribal bands and complex embroidered accents. A flat-weave of this complex striped layout dates back to the late 19th or early 20th century; it transitions from a decorative floor covering into a highly collectible tribal textile artifact.

The Slit-Weave & Soumak Technique: True antique Sirjan kilims often blend classic flat-weaving with Soumak (a technique where colored weft yarns are wrapped around the warp threads). This creates the slightly raised, embroidered-looking geometric patterns in the narrow stripes, a process requiring immense manual skill.

The Antique Patina: The oranges, ochre golds, and deep indigo tones on an antique piece are derived entirely from centuries-old vegetable and root dyes. Over time, exposure to light and air gives the hand-spun wool a soft, variegated glow (abrash) that reproduction pieces cannot match.
